Most important thing I think is to just try it in a controlled, low money test run and then build from there. But make sure to use different platforms and ads so that you can make serious financial decisions from your test run.

An image can definitely speak a thousand words, although Im not sure going for wackiness is the best advice, certainly the graphic needs to be attention grabbing and tailored to suit your target audience.
